This is such an exciting time in our family as we are expecting. Yet our country is struggling with ideas of motherhood and children. From people choosing to wait or refrain from having children all together or even feeling that children are a burden. I write this to you as I am 23 weeks along , so over the half way hump. This pregnancy was a bit tougher than previous ones. Yes, previous ones, I am a mom of 6. Before you write me off as one of those people who just keep having kids, hear my heart. I had a desire from the beginning for a big family and I was blessed to have one. Life sure had its bumps along the way but I am now remarried and having a sweet baby boy to add to my six and my husbands two. One big happy family! Well....we persist but blending has its struggles and all the kids feel differently.
I wanted to write to encourage Momas today, no matter where you are on your journey. Maybe you have a desire to have children and are waiting, or growing your family, perhaps you have been surprised , may you be encouraged. I pray you see God's heart in all this. I pray it sheds light where things seem dim.
If I may paraphrase, in Isaiah 26:3-4 it says , He keeps us in perfect and constant peace, those whose mind is steadfast and committed and focused on the Lord. We find our trust and refuge and confident expectation in Him. He is our fortress and our shield. We can go forward without fear and not alone. He is with us and He has got us and our family in His hand. TRUST Him!
Psalm 127:3-5 Children are a heritage and a gift from the Lord. The fruit of the womb is a reward! Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of our youth! We are happy and blessed. I am 46 and still claim to be young!
I pray you can find motherhood to be a joy even on a tough day, BECAUSE its not about one day or feelings but the entire journey and knowing we are not in this alone.
I find my self married to the most wonderful man, sorry ladies but I have got to brag (esp after 20 years of a difficult marriage ) … we are both human and have our ups and downs but we stay focused on God and stay connected to one another. If you are married the greatest gift you can give your children is an example of a unified relationship in love with your spouse. If you are unmarried do the same thing but with the Lord. God designed the family and has a beautiful plan for mothers, do not let society fool you into thinking anything can replace this high calling!
Be blessed sweet Moma!
