Know what you want~

Good morning!
Today is a fun day here as we celebrate my sons 12th birthday. I used to say my youngest but with a precious new addition to our family on the way, my 12 year old has been promoted, as we like to say! Each one of our family members have different needs and things they need prayer for.
Prayer is such a powerful thing, it used to intimidate me. I thought I didn't know what to say or did not pray long enough. Prayer is you talking to the Lord and listening, yes it goes both ways. Our part is to believe and communicate. As we pray we of course are hoping for an answer, so here is how to go about getting there. Find out what God's Words says about your situation and pray through the verse. You are actually praying His will.
For instance, as we are awaiting this sweet little one here are some verses that I am praying.
I have rewritten it so it is a prayer. Please look them up!

I pray this is a blessing to you and if you know someone who is having a baby or just did, share this with them, may God have all the glory! He is the one who works it all together for good!

Isaiah 46:3-4
Lord I choose to listen to you and your Word, You have carried this child from birth. You have made this child and will carry them and save them.

Isaiah 26:3-4
You keep me and this child in perfect peace, in constant peace. Our minds are steadfast, committed and focused on you. I trust and take refuge in You with hope and expectation. I trust confidently in you Lord forever! You are this child's and my fortress and shield!

Isaiah 41:10
I will not fear anything, thank you that you are with me. I will not be afraid, you are our God! You are our helper, you strengthen us and take hold of us!

Jeremiah 15:8
Lord you formed this child in my womb, you know them and chose them.
Lord thank you that you are with me always and protecting and delivering me!
(expecting momas… He delivers us, think of Him being right there
with you during labor and delivery!  I am taking this!)

James 1:17-18
Thank you Lord for you have blessed me and every good thing and perfect gift is from above. Lord our child is a perfect gift! Thank you for giving this child to us!

Psalm 127:3-5
Thank you Lord for this child as they are a heritage and gift from you! This child, the fruit of my womb is a reward! Like arrows in the hand of a warrior so are the children of one's youth! I am blessed and fortunate and happy to be blessed with this child and to have you O Lord!

Psalm 139:13-18
Lord you knit this child together in my womb and we give thanks. This child has been created by your hand and they are fearfully and wonderfully made. You made them intricately and skillfully by your own hand! We dwell with you always!

IN JESUS NAME AMEN!

OH Baby!

This is such an exciting time in our family as we are expecting. Yet our country is struggling with ideas of motherhood and children. From people choosing to wait or refrain from having children all together or even feeling that children are a burden. I write this to you as I am 23 weeks along , so over the half way hump. This pregnancy was a bit tougher than previous ones. Yes, previous ones, I am a mom of 6. Before you write me off as one of those people who just keep having kids, hear my heart. I had a desire from the beginning for a big family and I was blessed to have one. Life sure had its bumps along the way but I am now remarried and having a sweet baby boy to add to my six and my husbands two. One big happy family! Well....we persist but blending has its struggles and all the kids feel differently.
I wanted to write to encourage Momas today, no matter where you are on your journey. Maybe you have a desire to have children and are waiting, or growing your family, perhaps you have been surprised , may you be encouraged. I pray you see God's heart in all this. I pray it sheds light where things seem dim.

If I may paraphrase, in Isaiah 26:3-4 it says , He keeps us in perfect and constant peace, those whose mind is steadfast and committed and focused on the Lord. We find our trust and refuge and confident expectation in Him. He is our fortress and our shield. We can go forward without fear and not alone. He is with us and He has got us and our family in His hand. TRUST Him!

Psalm 127:3-5 Children are a heritage and a gift from the Lord. The fruit of the womb is a reward! Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of our youth! We are happy and blessed. I am 46 and still claim to be young!

I pray you can find motherhood to be a joy even on a tough day, BECAUSE its not about one day or feelings but the entire journey and knowing we are not in this alone.
I find my self married to the most wonderful man, sorry ladies but I have got to brag (esp after 20 years of a difficult marriage ) … we are both human and have our ups and downs but we stay focused on God and stay connected to one another. If you are married the greatest gift you can give your children is an example of a unified relationship in love with your spouse. If you are unmarried do the same thing but with the Lord. God designed the family and has a beautiful plan for mothers, do not let society fool you into thinking anything can replace this high calling!
Be blessed sweet Moma!
