Mom Minute

The Word of God has much to say about the heart of a woman. I look around and dishes, laundry, unfinished projects are screaming at me. I had that moment when the baby is asleep, kids at school, I crave those moments so I can get things done. All week I had been wanting to write and the Lord had been pouring so much truth into me it felt like it was overflowing, I needed to write it down. I prayed, Lord, what is most important is the ministry you set before me! Immediately in my spirit was a response, ALL this IS your ministry!
Your home, tasks, children, all of it is your ministry! Do it unto the Lord, His anointing flows through you as you have a heart turned toward Him. You will accomplish all that is before you, your family will see joy and have peace. We set the tone ladies, let it be one that makes our family feel loved and at ease.
We are a reflection of Christ to our families. We are to be vessels that He pours HIs love out on them through us!

Social media has become such a distraction for me. Especially as a mom home with children, I crave social interaction. These media platforms offer good and can be very advantageous but it also poses a distraction when we need to be focused. Despite distractions, basic life can keep me from spending time with Jesus the way I truly desire. Quiet uninterrupted times are scarce when littles are in the home. Instead of waiting for the time to be alone, embrace Jesus while the children are awake, sing while you wash dishes, dance with your baby as you worship the Lord. Dishes, laundry, creative times, monotony, all of it can be turned into moments of God ordained praise. Jesus wants to be part of your every moment and your everyday. Embrace Him right where you are, read the Bible out loud to your baby, pray out loud and let them see how to live for Jesus practically.
The perfect time rarely presents itself, but when you bring Jesus Christ into those moments they become perfect!

We are all in this together. We may be in different seasons and different circumstances, but as mothers we understand daily life and needs. We also know we need a Savior who is personal and walks with us, we need Jesus! Moma your babies need you! Your family needs you, your spouse needs you, YOU HAVE PURPOSE!
You are so much more than dishes and laundry. Daily tasks are just that but they do not define you! You may look into the mirror and see tired eyes and full hips but they need to see an approving smile, the one who makes them feel like home is the best place in the world! Do not rely on works or yourself to make this happen. We are human and have emotions and reactions that get in the way. Rather submit to God and let this be a prayer of your heart. Ask Him to be the creator of your home and family. Ask Him to create in you a heart for your home and family in a new and deeper way. He gave us this role and gifted you to be the one to be called Mom! Smile Moma and let Christ shine through you!
Ask the Lord to show you how to incorporate your strengths into your calling as a Mom. He is faithful to do this as He is the one who gave us certain strengths that make us individuals.
Being the best You with Jesus, is one of the best gifts you can give your kiddos!

Women fulfilling their roles as a mother are loving God and showing Him honor. Caring for your family is a blessed and important role for every mother. The Lord knows each family is unique and He is a personal Lord who will guide and direct you as you go. Parenthood is an ongoing venture. It does not end when they magically turn 18. Somehow my younger children got the message from their older siblings that when you are 18 you should be ready to be on your own. I have raised very independent men and women. I love what a friend once said to me, a good parent works their way out of a job! I often take comfort in that. My heart still aches as there is great physical distance between me and several of my children. What the Lord continues to show me is each one of us has a calling on our life. It is their time to walk with the Lord, and He is not done with me yet. Age has crept up on me but I am so thankful to still have younger children at home. Daily I am reminded that is what is of most importance. I desire that these kiddos know Jesus. I am blessed to have them here for a time and want to be sure I point them in the right direction.
“Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.
How blessed [happy and fortunate] is the man whose quiver is filled with them;
They will not be ashamed When they speak with their enemies [in gatherings] at the [city] gate” Psalm 127:4-5.
The term youth we will leave up to God to determine! Our children are like arrows and we need to point them in the direction we want them to go. As we raise them, the habits that are created, responses and patterns of life will dictate the way they will choose later. Aim them at Jesus with a firm grip that they may know they are loved by you and an awesome God!

Preparing Your Heart for Baby

A child is a sweet gift from the Lord! The joys of expecting a baby are endless! Look at the baby industry and the excitement that is generated at baby’s arrival! Beyond the cute outfits and latest gear we look into a mother’s heart. We want to be the best mom we can be, so we set our standards with God’s Word as the plumb line. The Lord has a great purpose and a beautiful plan for mothers as they lead their children. Let the Lord fill you with joy and encouragement as you await this precious child!
